Like the first book, this is action-packed and fast-moving. In this edition we get another perspective, that of former Justice department agent Alistair Laughton who has experience in the region of space that Roy Goberling found his legendary haul of trans-uranics. Human-settled space is a corporate plutocracy where the Justice department is completely corrupt and indentured servitude is essentially legal. Actually there BETTER be more, or else.Ĭontinuing the story of Nika Rik Terri, a legendary body-modder, her apprentice Bertram Snowshoe and the other members of the crew of Another Road including Josune Arriola (a main character in the previous book, but mostly a side character in this one).
